Decisions Regarding Requests to Vary the Draft Secondary Notification Assessment (SNA) Report for Phoslock TM

The National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme (NICNAS) recently released two decisions to vary the Draft Secondary Notification Assessment Report for Phoslock TM. On 22 January 2013, the agency originally released a report providing an evaluation of the relevant information pertaining to the potential public health and environmental risks that may be associated with exposure to Phoslock™. Based on the analysis of the data and the findings NICNAS made recommendations regarding the safe use of Phoslock™. This report was then open for public comment and NICNAS received 2 requests to vary the report.
