Japan proposes occupational safety measures for ethylbenzene, indium and cobalt compounds

Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) has notified the World Trade Organisation (WTO) of a proposed amendment to the Industrial Safety and Health Law concerning indium compounds, ethylbenzene, cobalt and cobalt compounds. The amendment will requires manufacturers of these substances to install devices to control emission of gases to protect employees. The notification is open to a 60-day public comment period.
