Norway recommends addition of D4 and TCEP to national priority list

The Norwegian Climate and Pollution Agency (Klif) has recommended that the siloxane D4 and the flame retardant tris (2-chloroethyl) phosphate (TCEP) be added to the national priority list of substances to be eliminated by 2020. “By putting chemicals on this list, we send a loud and clear signal to manufacturers, importers and suppliers of goods and services that these are chemicals we do not want in circulation and will regulate very strictly,” said Ellen Hambro, director of Klif. TCEP has recently been added to the REACH authorisation list meaning its use will require approval from 2015. There is currently no similar requirement for the use of D4.
