Germany to propose 4-nonylphenol as SVHC

Germany has announced its intention to propose 4-nonylphenol as a substance of very high concern (SVHC), based on evidence that it is of equivalent concern under Article 57(f) of REACH. The proposal would include all individual branched and linear isomers with an alkyl chain of carbon number 9, and UVCB substances which include linear and branched alkyl chains with a carbon number of 9. Germany plans to submit the Annex XV SVHC proposal in August.
