Public consultation launched for 6 applications for Authorisation

On 16 August 2017, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) launched an 8 week public consultation for 6 applications for Authorisation. Information concerning the uses that the Authorisation is applied for, including the description of the function of the substance, exposure scenarios, possible alternatives identified by the applicants, together with socio-economic information, is available on ECHA’s website. The deadline for submitting comments is 11 October 2017. The substances concerned are included in the Authorisation List (Annex XIV of REACH). Substances on the Authorisation List cannot be placed on the market or used after their so-called ‘sunset date’, unless the company has been granted an Authorisation.
