Public consultation on alternatives to the use of Diglyme has opened

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has received one application for authorisation for industrial use of diglyme as a solvent in the manufacturing process of cryptand intermediates for further conversion into cryptand 221 and cryptand 222. ECHA’s website gives further information about the use applied for, including the description of the function of the substance, exposure scenarios, possible alternatives identified by the applicants, together with socio-economic information.
