The IUCLID User Manual for nanomaterials has been updated

The IUCLID User Manual “Nanomaterials in IUCLID 5” includes instructions on how registrants can explicitly report when a nanoform has been used in (experimental) studies. It will help registrants to prepare or update registration dossiers for substances that are nanomaterials or include nanoforms. IUCLID 5.4 enables registrants to select the form of the test material used in all study summaries reported in their dossiers and “Nanomaterial” is one of the options that can be selected. The update is expanding on options that were already available in previous IUCLID versions to indicate “nanomaterial” as the form of the substance in section 2.1 “Classification and labelling according to GHS” and in section 4.1 “Appearance/physical state/colour”. In addition, the manual gives instructions on how to structure information on different forms of the registered substance in a consistent and coherent manner. The updated manual also includes references and links to recent Guidance updates for nanomaterials published on the ECHA website and links to recent reports from projects, such as the REACH Implementation Projects on Nanomaterials (RIP-oNs) and the OECD Working Party on Manufactured Nanomaterials (WPMN). A copy of the update manual is available at: “Nanomaterials in IUCLID 5”
