Consultation now open – review of the model Work Health and Safety Regulations for diving work

Safe Work Australia is seeking feedback on how the model Work Health and Safety (WHS) Regulations for diving work can be improved. Workers and businesses who are involved with diving work, regulators, work health and safety professionals and other interested stakeholders are invited to comment on three options put forward in the Consultation Regulation Impact Statement for Review of the Model Work Health and Safety Regulations for Diving Work. The agency has developed these options after consulting with the diving industry, training organisations, work health and safety regulators, unions and industry representatives about their experience with the current regulations. The review will ensure diving regulations keep workers safe without imposing an unnecessary compliance burden on diving operators. Tell us what you think about the options presented. You may also propose different options. Make your submission through the Safe Work Australia public submissions website by 30 September 2016. For more information visit the diving page and subscribe to ‘diving work’ on the Safe Work Australia website to receive updates on the review process.
