EPA consultation on proposed hazardous substances rule changes

New Zealand’s Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) is seeking submissions on three consultation papers that set out proposed changes to the rules on the ways hazardous substances are managed. The three consultation papers relate to: Classification, labelling, safety data sheets and packaging of hazardous substances; Forms and information required in hazardous substance applications; Import certificates for explosives [EPA website]. Submissions opened on 19 September 2016 and close at 5pm on 14 October 2016. These changes are part of the Government’s wider initiative to improve workplace health and safety.
