Thailand’s Department of Industrial Works to Hold Conference on Implementing Risk Assessment System to Monitor Hazardous Substances for Industrial Uses

Thailand’s Department of Industrial Works (DIW), together with Mahidol University, have invited interested parties to attend a conference on “Implementing Risk Assessment System to Monitor Hazardous Substances for Industrial Uses.” The event will take place on Tuesday, 20 June 2017 at The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam, Bangkok from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, local time. There is no cost associated with attending and the number of participants is limited to 300. Those who are interested may register via the below link. The aim of this conference is to provide guidelines and methods for assessing risks of industrial chemicals in the future (i.e. manufacture and import of “new” chemicals in Thailand). Readers should note that the Agency has not defined what “new” substances are at the time this article is written. However, it is safe to assume “new” chemicals are those not present in the Thailand Existing Chemicals Inventory.
