U.S. EPA updates list of active substances exempt from the TSCA Inventory Notifications (Active-Inactive) Rule

On 5 December 2017, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) updated their list of active substances exempt from the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) Inventory Notifications (Active-Inactive) Rule. This list includes chemical substances reported under the 2012 and 2016 Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) rule, and in Notices of Commencement received since 21 June 2006. The TSCA Inventory Notification (Active-Inactive) Rule requires industry reporting of chemicals manufactured/imported in the U.S. during the 10-year time period ending on 21 June 2016, through the submission of a new “Notice of Activity” (NOA) Form A. The reporting period for manufacturers/importers ends on 7 February 2018, and the reporting period for processors ends on 5 October 2018.
