Evaluation on health education of occupational disease prevention in furniture industry

In this study, the authors investigated the effects that health education had on changes in furniture industry. In addition, they provided a basis for enhancing validity of health education on occupational disease prevention. Two hundred and sixty-three exposed workers and the workplaces of 3 furniture factories were selected, according to the awareness rate of occupational health knowledge, to the results of health behaviours, to the levels of main occupational hazards qualified rate in the workplaces and physical examination qualified rate of exposed workers, concluded the effects after 3 years. The awareness rate of occupational health knowledge and health behaviours had improved greatly after intervention, the levels of main occupational hazards qualified rate in the workplaces and physical examination qualified rate of exposed workers were significant difference between before and after intervention. The authors concluded that based on the findings from the present study, the intervention could help workers know more about occupational disease prevention, and improve the level of main occupational hazards qualified rate and physical examination qualified rate of exposed workers.
